Disability Employment: Removing Barriers to Prosperity
Online EventOctober 30, 2018
Interactive webchat starts at 6 a.m. or 8 a.m.
In October, Americans celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) to recognize the creativity, innovation and skill that people with disabilities bring to our workforce. The objective of NDEAM is to promote awareness of the needs of disabled workers and emphasize the importance of creating economic opportunity for all.
As part of this effort, the U.S. Department of State will host an interactive webchat featuring accessibility experts and assistive-technology innovators who will discuss how businesses benefit from the expertise that people with disabilities offer and how a lack of accessibility excludes them from the workforce and hinders economic growth.
